THE NATIONAL RESEARCH AND INNOVATION AGENCY
The Research Collaboration Center (RCC) is a research center that serves as a forum for collaboration in the implementation of international research and innovation. The collaboration focuses on specific fields in a multi and interdisciplinary manner, with a very high standard of results and relevant to the needs of science and technology users. RCC is one of seven research and innovation facilitation and funding schemes organized by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). Therefore, in context of announcing the results of the 2022 RCC funding program selection, batch 1, and socializing the program to researchers, universities, and industries, BRIN will hold a “WALIDASI (Webinar on Facilitation and Funding for Research and Innovation), Edition of Research Collaboration Center # 1, on Friday 11 March 2022”
Jakarta, 11 March 2022. Improving the ability of invention and innovation is marked with research products that have the potential to improve the nation’s competitiveness and independence. In supporting the increasing productivity of inventions and innovations to strengthen the competitive and sustainable economic transformation, BRIN has since 2021 provided 7 (seven) research and innovation facilitation and funding schemes, namely: 1) BRIN National Research Priority (PRN) Flagship years 2022 – 2024; 2) Research-Based Startup Company Funding; 3) Sailing Day Facilitation years 2022 – 2024; 4) Funding of Research on Handling of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19); 5) Facilitation of Research Collaboration Centers; 6) Expedition and Exploration Funding years 2022 – 2024; and 7) Facilitation of Health Innovation Product Testing.
All existing funding and facilitation schemes are not only to finance research activities for researchers at BRIN, but are also open and accessible to all parties on a competitive basis. One of the schemes that has been opened and which selection process has been completed is the Research Collaboration Center (RCC) Funding. 6 RCCs will receive the RCC funding program batch I in 2022. Each RCC consists of agencies that are involved in a collaborative forum.
Head of BRIN, Laksana Tri Handoko, said, RCC is a scheme to strengthen research capacity and competence in specific research fields by optimizing existing human resources at partner campuses as RCC location and related Research Centers (RC) at BRIN. “This scheme enables BRIN to efficiently strengthen research on certain strategic topics. BRIN RCC with universities will be treated the same as regular RC in BRIN, including full access to all HR and research facilitation schemes,” he added.
Acting Deputy for Research and Innovation Facilitation, Agus Haryono stated, RCC is a research center that serves as a forum for collaboration in the implementation of international research and innovation. “Collaborations are focused on specific fields in a multi and interdisciplinary manner, with a very high standard of results and relevant to the needs of science and technology users,” he explained. He added that RCC has a mechanism of collaboration and cooperation in the implementation of research and innovation development by utilizing joint funding sources, and making it possible to fulfil the mandated activities.
It is hoped that RCC will produce maximum research output by utilizing much better resources, namely by optimizing the resources of each party involved in the research collaboration, such as resources in universities, BRIN, and/or industries.
